Directors
The Directors set the strategic direction for the MAT and are accountable to the Secretary of State for the performance of the schools within it. This is set out in a legal document known as the "funding agreement". As charity trustees, they must also ensure that they are complying with charity law requirements. High calibre directors are appointed for the skills, knowledge or experience as needed by the Board.
The Trust Board of Directors has there core functions
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding the Executive Headteacher (EHT) to account for the educational performance of the Trust schools and their pupils, and the performance management of staff
- Overseeing the financial performance of the schools and making sure its money is well spent.

Mrs Kaye Elston
Kaye has worked in safeguarding within education, local authorities and charities for over 30 years. Kaye has two children who both went to Milford Junior School which led to her becoming a governor at Milford Junior School and more recently a Director for the Huish Academy Trust/Yeovil Area Community Academy Trust.
Kaye strongly believes that providing the best opportunity for children to access and progress in education is the greatest gift we can provide for children. She is aware that children need to feel safe before they can begin to learn and wants to build upon the great work already in place across our schools

Mr Shaun Kitto
Shaun has worked for local company Leonardo in the manufacturing of transmission parts for Helicopters over the last 36 years. Shaun has three children which has led him to being involved within the local community through Yeovil Swimming Club (committee member), Westland Sports Football Club (Coaching) and finally Yeovil and Sherborne Hockey Club. Shaun has been a governor, Vice Chair for twenty years, and Chair of the governing body for the last 8 years, he has a passion for education and truly believes that every child should have the opportunity to reach their full

Dr Brian Geary
Dr Brian Geary
Before retiring in 2016 Brian held the position of Chief Materials Engineer for Agusta Westland. In this role he held technical and administrative responsibility for materials laboratories in Italy and UK. As a PhD qualified engineer he brought a high degree of technical expertise but the management responsibility also required knowledge of departmental budgets, employment law and health and safety law across European geographies.
He has a long standing connection to the school as his children were pupils and now two of his grandchildren attend. He therefore has a strong personal interest in bringing his past experience to helping to maintain the high standards set by the school. -

Wildcat Contract Maintenance Manager for Leonardo Helicopters.
Incorporated Engineer responsible for on-site operational management of contract output, the management of risk to life, H&S, strategic and maintenance planning to assist Army Aviation with delivery of trained Aircrew.

Mr Adam Allen
Mr Adam Allen
Adam has worked in the Double Glazing Industry since leaving school. He has worked for Bill Butters Windows in Sherborne for the last 26 years.Adam has lived in Yeovil all his life and attended the old Huish School Primary. Adam’s 2 older children both attended Huish School, 1 of his younger children is currently at Huish Primary and his youngest will hopefully follow in his footsteps. This had led him to becoming a Director for the Yeovi l Area Community Academy Trust. Adam has a passion for helping the school and giving children a safe and fulfilling education. -
Miss Sam Sandy
Miss Sam Sandy
Sam has completed a variety of roles and knowledge throughout my life which helps me to sustain roles such as this honour of being a trustee. I am trainer for Somerset Safeguarding Children's Partnership delivering a variety of courses to help multi-agencies work collaboratively together to get the right outcomes for children and families. I also have a background in working with victims of Domestic Abuse and people who cause harm, as well as working in Early years settings. My greatest achievement is my son who attends Primrose Lane Primary School and I am glad to be part of the trust to help shape a great future for all.
